Assemblage as a method for both making and research.
Ideas about childhood, shelter and art-making in & about the home explored materially through bronze casting, monoprinting, altering found furniture, casting pewter in cuttle fish, scrap welding, darkroom printing & twig joinery.
Drawing upon the painterly interiors of Charleston House, curiosity boxes of Joseph Cornell, chalk seascapes of Tacita Dean, Chinese architectural ceramic figures, 19th century dolls houses, the teddy bear shrines of Grayson Perry & delicate scenographies of Fausto Melotti.
