Hair + Care = Chair
MArch Architecture, Central Saint Martins, 2022
A project exploring the power and possibilities of hairy self expression as a counterpoint to the exclusionary practice of gendered pricing in hair salons.
A performance piece (in collaboration with Joseph and Emma Teh) made public the identity affirming possibilities held within the vulnerable experience of getting a haircut, whilst an ethos of quirky comfort maximalism reinvented the hairdressers chair with a borrowed burger king crate dolly, old foam cushions, emergency foil blankets and a hand felted hairy blanket.
